A Year in Review: 2020

Hello fellow Squarespacers! I cannot believe another year has come and gone. Although this year has looked different in many ways, I am proud of the progress we have made here at Rebecca Grace Designs and I am excited to share our ups and downs with you as well as our goals for next year!

Our Progress and Accomplishments

When I first launched my business I decided to switch from designing in Wordpress to sticking exclusively with Squarespace. So, 2019 was all about learning the Squarespace Platform, building my processes and services, and attracting my first clients. This year was all about really solidifying my business’ identity. My goal was to clarify what services I wanted to offer as well as really build up my client base.

After lots of reading, webinars, and conversations I made a decision on what services I wanted to focus on and then rebuilt my website on the new Squarespace 7.1 Platform to reflect the changes I had made. During this time, I really dove into SEO and decided to release a course on my journey and all the strategies I use to rank high in searches (check it out here)!

I decided to focus on providing resources for those building Squarespace sites, rather than designing websites myself. To build up my client base for these services, I worked at blogging consistently as well as optimizing my YouTube Channel. I then released a couple new Squarespace Plugins and The Encyclopedia of Code!

Overall, I am super proud of what I was able to accomplish this year in my business. In terms of income, I was able to scale up my business over 20x this year! Check it out!

Where We Could Have Done Better

Like a lot of other businesses this year, it was not all roses and butterflies. There was definitely some goals that I missed the mark on. With the pandemic, I was not able to get business photos done this year. I know that it is important to have updated photos so I really hope to be able to get these done in the next few months.

I had also planned on reading several different business and self help books to guide my decisions. I really dropped the ball on this one. Although I listened to a few podcasts and took in some webinars, I did not really prioritize this as much as I should have.

Next Year’s Goals

So, where do we go from here? In October, I decided to take the leap and join Caitlin Bacher’s Scale With Success Course. So far I am loving it! My goal for next year is to use The Scale Method to really build up The Encyclopedia of Code into a consistent stream of passive income for my business. Ideally, my goal is to double this year’s income.

P.S If you are interested in a FREE MASTERCLASS on how the Scale Method can help you get off the launch roller coaster and produce consistent and scalable revenue, check it out here! <— that is an affiliate link.

And That’s a Wrap!

Finally, I would like to say thank you to my lovely Squarespace Community. I hope that you are all staying safe and wish you the best start to the new year. I am going to take the next few weeks to unwind and reflect so that I can hit the ground running in the new year.

Cheers,

Rebecca xx
